10 Months of Gracie Jayne

Sissy, I can't believe that you have been a part of our family for ten whole months. In one breath, it feels like I've known you forever; but in another, I can't believe that you turn one in two months. Gracie Jayne, you are an absolute joy.

Not going to lie, we got off to a bit of a rough start. You've always been pretty a pretty good sleeper; as a newborn you'd only get up about 2-3 times a night, and by 5 months you were sleeping through the night. But man, you were quite colicky during the days. I remember many days where dad would come home from work with all three of us crying. However, once I figured out what foods bothered you, we were able to make life a little better for the both of us. At five months, you grew out of your colic and also decided that you didn't like nursing anymore. We tried EVERYTHING, but in the end, you decided that bottles were your thing. You are obviously a girl who knows what you want and won't quit until you get it - and to be honest, I admire you for that.

1 Month - Not afraid to show off your extremely dramatic cry. But man, you are adorable. And you have your daddy wrapped around your little finger.

2 Months - Chunking up already. Good thing, because your rolls are delicious! Smiling, holding your head up well, and starting to show off your cute personality.

3 Months -  You love babbling and talking to anyone who will listen. You also flew on your first plane, attended your first wedding, and were blessed in UT.

4 Months - Close to sitting all by yourself and have a smile to kill.

5 Months - Sitting and starting to bond with your older brother (this is still a work in progress).

6 Months - Smiling so big that you have to scrunch your nose for more room, starting to eat solids (despite having your stomach not handle it very well), loving bath time, getting excited every morning when seeing mom or dad, getting up on your hands and knees (trying to crawl) rolling circles around Evan.

7 Months - Such a genuinely happy girl! You get the hiccups every single time you laugh (and you have since day one) and you are learning how to crawl. You would live in your bouncer if we would let you. You have the best cheeks in the entire world and love riding in the shopping cart.

8 Months - You made the cutest little piggy for Halloween. You crawl everywhere and get into everything. Anything you find instantly goes in your mouth.

9 Months - You learned how to pull yourself up and can stand by yourself for short periods of time. You LOVE eating everything we give you and shake with excitement every time you see your dad. You love chanting "dada" and "nana." Towards the end of 9 months, you learned how to give kisses, wave hi and goodbye, and clap your hands.

10 Months - You're standing by yourself for longer periods of time and walking along furniture. You love shoes and wearing necklaces. You give brother a run for his money when he tries to take your toys. You hate being cold and LOVE dogs. If ever you go missing for a second, I know I will find you looking out the window at Gunner.

Even though our communication hasn't progressed to conversations (and I can't wait for the day that it does) I feel like I know you so well. I know your sweet spirit, sensitive nature, and content personality. You are truly one of a kind and I am so blessed to know you!
