A Wonderful Year

I can't believe that it has almost been a year since Dayne and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. This past weekend, we had the most wonderful opportunity of going to my friend Jen's wedding which served as a great reminder of our special day. During the ceremony, the spirit was extremely strong and further testified to me of the power of being sealed together in the house of our Heavenly Father. I wish that I remembered more of the things that were said during our ceremony on our wedding day. However, every time that I am able to attend a sealing, I am so blessed to be able to be reminded of the feelings that I felt on my wedding day-which strengthens my testimony of temple attendance. Watching Jen and her new husband Jake shine with true happiness makes me want to live my life in such a way that I will be able to have an eternal marriage. I love Dayne so much and feel so blessed to be influenced by his goodness.

Building Relationships

This week I have come to realized the importance of building relationships. In class we have been talking about parenting and different parenting styles; to say the least, these lectures have made me so scared (and excited) to be a parent some day. We have discussed the importance of maintaining good relationships with our family members-with our future children. Despite my feelings of insecurity, the thought occurred to me that Heavenly Father won't leave me by myself to raise my children. When we keep close to him, He keeps close to us and helps us with every part of our lives.  In order to build our relationship with others, we need to first build our relationship with our Heavenly Father. When we have Heavenly Father on our side and put Him first, He will help us through life.

DC

What an amazing week! Dayne had an interview for PA school at George Washington University so I tagged along to explore the amazing city of DC! It was such a cool city and best of all, we got to see Dayne's sister Natalie and her adorable family! It was so amazing seeing many historical sights and spending time with family! Thanks for the wonderful time Cook Family!
